Odoo Projects

A project goes wrong in silence. Here, it makes noise in time.

Projects rarely sink all at once: they drift, and the bad news arrives at closing, when all that is left is to tell it. Odoo Projects goes after that where it counts — every hour logged, every approved expense and every supplier purchase lands on the project's analytic account the moment it happens, so the margin is a figure from today and not a month-end estimate. On top of it we build what each sector needs: construction, professional services or maintenance.

Hours logged without drama

Timesheets from the browser or the phone, with a timer and by task. If logging an hour costs less than ten seconds, the team does it; if it costs more, you will have a parallel spreadsheet and a monthly argument.

Real cost, not an average rate

Every employee has their hourly cost, so what the project consumes is valued with the reality of your payroll. It is the difference between knowing a project is tight and finding out in March that it had been losing money since October.

Everything lands on the project

Approved expenses, supplier purchases and subcontracting are charged to the project's analytics right away. Committed cost is visible even before the invoice arrives, which is while you can still react.

Bill it the way it was sold

By hours worked, at a fixed price, by milestones or by progress, with re-billable expenses pulled into the order. The invoice comes out of what actually happened on the project, not out of what somebody remembers.

Planning with real capacity

Tasks with their stages, dependencies and owners, and assignment that looks at who genuinely has room. Committing to a date stops being optimism and becomes a calculation somebody has made.

Profitability in plain sight

Revenue, costs and margin by project, by phase and by customer, in real time. The review meeting changes: instead of arguing about what happened, you decide what to do with what is happening.

Questions we get asked

Can I know the margin before the project ends?
That is the whole point. With hours, expenses and purchases charged to the project's analytics, profitability is visible from the first week and updates every day. You do not have to wait for the final invoice to know whether the price was right.
Can we bill by milestones or only by hours?
Both ways, and also at a fixed price or by percentage of progress. Each order line can have its own method, which is the usual case when a project mixes a fixed scope with blocks of hours.
Do the project's expenses and purchases come in?
Yes, as long as they carry their analytic account — it is worth making it mandatory. An approved expense or a supplier purchase shows up in the project cost the same day, and if they are re-billable they get pulled into the customer order.
Can the team log hours from outside the office?
Yes, from the phone's browser, and the same goes for expenses by photo. On site and in services it is the only way for the data to arrive the same day instead of on Friday, reconstructed from memory.
